Ian Kerr PGA Professional
One of Ireland's Leading Golf Coaches
I started my PGA training at 16 years old in 1987 and became fully qualified in 1990 as a PGA professional. Now married with two children I am as still as passionate now as I was then about playing and teaching the game of golf that has been my life.
Throughout my career I have worked in many prestigious golf clubs such as Killarney Golf & fishing Club, Old Prestwick Golf Club and Murrayfield Golf Club.
I have worked with and learned from some of the top teachers in the world such as Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter, Sir Henry Cotton, Bob Torrance, Dennis Pugh and many more.
I moved to Ireland in 1996 and established Carlow Golf Centre.
I have played professionally all over the world with wins in Ireland, Scotland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Dominican Republic and U.S.A.
I am still an active player within the Irish P.G.A and currently ranked inside the top 30 in Ireland.
I continue to further my coaching education as much as possible and have just finished a day with short game guru Dave Pelz.
My own teaching philosophy is very simple. I do not use any gimmicks and only use video when strictly necessary. I work purely from my experiences from working with the worlds top coaches and my extensive knowledge gained from nearly 30 years teaching an average of 50 people weekly.
Having recently played with Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington in Carton House I have had the opportunity to extensively question these 3 time major champions about their own games and what the worlds elite players are currently working on collectively.
I can tailor any coaching package required to suit your needs be it as an individual, a group, a company or a team. Anything can be done to fit your requirements.
